Pennsylvania Refugee Resettlement Program
The mission of the Refugee Resettlement Program is to help refugees and their families obtain employment, economic self-sufficiency and social integration within the shortest possible time after their arrival into Pennsylvania. The program provides a continuum of employment, educational, case management, health and financial support services to newly arrived refugees. Web pages can be translated into multiple languages.
Immigrant Legal Access Project
The Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project (ILAP), in Portland Maine, provides free and low-cost immigration information and legal assistance to low-income Maine residents. ILAP helps Maine’s immigrants keep their families together, gain protection from persecution and domestic violence, attain residency and work authorization, and become proud U.S. citizens. ILAP builds stable families and improved opportunities, allowing Maine’s immigrants to contribute to their communities for generations to come. ILAP’s services include direct legal aid provided for free or low-fee, educational outreach for immigrant communities, service providers, and the general public regarding immigration laws and immigration policies, and systemic advocacy to address laws and policies affecting large numbers of Maine’s immigrants. Advocacy work is often undertaken in coalition with our Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition (MIRC) partners.
ILAP works with Project Citizenship (projectcitizenship.org) as part of a regional collaboration of organizations providing citizenship application assistance and free naturalization application assistance.

Maine Access Immigrant Network (MAIN)
MAIN’s community health workers offer health and social services for immigrants and refugees in Portland, Maine. Team members assist immigrants and refugees in understanding and applying for health insurance, learn about health and wellness to avoid or support chronic conditions, and referral to community partners for housing and other services. There are monthly Healthy You workshops about chronic disease and preventative health education. Services are provided in English, Arabic, Somali, and French.

Developing Culturally Responsive Approaches to Serving Diverse Populations: A Resource Guide for Community-Based Organizations
Guide from the National Research Center on Hispanic Children and Families. The first goal of this resource guide is to help community-based service programs more easily find and access available resources on cultural competency in order to better serve their targeted populations. Second, the resource guide aims to help community-based organizations (CBOs) attract funders who often require evidence of culturally competent programs. This guide is not intended to serve as a training resource for frontline service providers. Rather, it directs users to an existing array of valuable tools and resources that they can consult, use, and adapt to strengthen their capacity to provide more culturally competent service delivery programs. The resource guide is also intended to help support CBOs in developing high-quality and successful applications in response to funding announcements.

The American Place (TAP) is a free program of Hartford Public Library designed to welcome immigrants and ease their transition into their new home city. TAP promotes Hartford’s shared civic values and its vibrant cultural multiplicity. TAP offers legal advice and representation by BIA-accredited representatives, free English and citizenship classes, and volunteer cultural navigators in addition to print materials and links to information about citizenship.

Coordinates donations and volunteers for Jungle Books, In ‘The Jungle’ refugee camp in Calais, France, Jungle Books is a library, school, and cafe that provides English, French, and music classes; one to one reading sessions; conversation classes; computer access; and book lending. Assists unaccompanied children, providing meals and recreation space.
